Heating oil stolen from Theale Village Hall

Theale's Parish Clerk has discovered that what she thought was fly tipping of large plastic containers in the recreation ground was actually a case of thieves bringing their equipment to the site in order to return later and steal heating oil from the Village Hall tank.

When she spotted the first containers to be ‘fly tipped’ she had them removed almost immediately by the Neighbourhood Wardens. However, the thieves have still managed to steal almost £2,000 worth of oil. The theft has been reported to the police.

Security of the area will be discussed at the Village Hall meeting on Monday evening.

If you see containers anywhere that look like they could be used for such a theft, then please alert the police by phoning 101.
