West Berks Council asked to clear obstructions from watercourses near Theale

When New Mills, Theale, was flooded I was concerned about tree branches restricting the flow of water flowing through the culvert that takes the Draper's Osier Bed stream under Station Road, Theale (just south of Haywards Farm). I though that was a possible cause of the flooding. Now that the water level has dropped, the obstruction is more visible:

I was aslo concerned about obstructions in the watercourse that flows past New Mills on its approach and exit from its culvert under Station Road:

Given the heavy rain that has fallen today (Sunday) and forecast in the coming week and the flood risk this poses, I have asked West Berkshire Council to arrange for these obstructions to be cleared as a matter of urgency.
