Funding in place for new skate park to be built in Theale

The money required to build the skate park in Theale's recreation ground has now been raised.

The required £45,000 has been obtained from:

  • A grant from Veolia Environmental Services (this comes from money raised from the Landfill Tax)
  • A contribution from the developer's contribution ("Section 106") from the Lakeside planning permission for 350 homes
  • Parish planning grant from West Berkshire Council
  • A grant from the Englefield Trust
  • A "Member's Bid" from me to west Berkshire Council
  • Theale Parish Council
The young people who campaigned for the skate park are going to raise money towards a bench, litter bin, etc.

A meeting will now be arranged between Gravity Skateparks, who won the bid to build the park, and the young people to finalise the deatials of the design.
