Footbridge at end of Volunteer Rd, Theale, back in use

The footbridge at the end of Volunteer Road, Theale, was damaged in the floods at the beginning of the year. The water level in the ditch rose to a very high level and dislodged the bridge:



The bridge gave access to the triangular green area between Volunteer Road and the bypass, known as "Volunteer Meadow". The damaged bridge meant that the area could not be accessed from Volunteer Road

The bridge has now been repaired, so full access to to Volunteer Meadow is now possible:
