Public meeting with Thames Water arranged to discuss sewage problems in Theale: May 1st 7:45pm

Many residents on Theale experienced problems with the sewage system during the wet weather in the last few months. The problems ranged from sewage flooding of roads and open space, flooded gardens and garages through to unusable toilets. Some residents had to take action to stop their homes being flooded.

After discussing the problems with the Clerk to the Parish Council, I agreed to ask our MP to arrange a public meeting with Thames Water. I knew that Alok Sharma MP had good contacts at Thames Water.

Alok has now announced that he has arranged the meeting. It will be held on May 1st at:

The Gateway (behind Theale Library)
Church Street

The meeting will start at 7:45pm and is scheduled to finish at 8:45pm

Attending the meeting will be Tom Medcalf, Operations Manager at Thames Water and Huw Thomas, Local and Regional Government Liaison Officer at Thames Water.

At the meeting Thames Water will provide an overview of the recent weather events and how they have affected Thames Water’s network in Theale.  In addition Thames Water will update residents on improvement work already undertaken in Theale, as well as future improvement plans.  The meeting will also be a great opportunity for local residents to raise directly with Thames Water any particular concerns they may have in relation to other sewage and water-related issues in Theale.

All Theale residents are welcome to attend the meeting on 1st May, but to assist with planning Alok would be grateful if you could get in touch via or 0118 941 3803 to indicate whether you will be attending.
