Standing for election to represent Theale ward on West Berks Council

There will be an election to elect councillors to all wards in West Berkshire District on May 2nd.

I am delighted to say that I have been nominated by the Liberal Democrats to stand in the election for Theale ward.

I first got involved in local politics because I really care about Theale and its residents and I want to continue to do the best for the village.

If elected, I will continue to keep in touch with residents on my regular Saturday morning walk-abouts in the High Street, with my regular email newsletters and on my Facebook page.

I have lived in Theale with my wife Sheila for over 33 years and we brought up our three daughters here. I therefore know the village well and believe that I understand villagers' concerns.

Over the past four years I have been leader and deputy leader of the Liberal Democrat Group on the West Berks Council and have been opposition spokesman for the Environment, Planning and Housing, and Highways and Transport.

A Labour and a Conservative candidate are also standing.
